Microsoft SQL Server
As part of an integration project, Nova manages the logins, database users, and server and database roles of your SQL Server instances, using the same request and recertification process as for every other entitlement.
What the Microsoft SQL Server project integration covers
- Creates logins and database users when access is needed and disables or removes them when it ends
- Grants and revokes server and database roles through Nova's request and approval workflows
- Lists your SQL Server roles in the entitlement catalog so they can be requested and recertified
- Compares the actual state in SQL Server with the target state in Nova and surfaces any drift
- Records every account and role change for audit purposes
Technical integration
The connector talks to SQL Server through its standard database interface and manages accounts and roles with regular T-SQL statements under a dedicated service account. It is built on Nova's connector SDK and tailored to your instances during the project.
In the identity lifecycle
Joiners receive database access through role assignments, movers have theirs adjusted, and leavers have them revoked with the account disabled or removed. Server and database roles pass through requests, approvals, and recertification like any other entitlement in Nova.
