Windows (PowerShell)
Many administrative tasks in Windows environments can only be automated through PowerShell, for example in Exchange. As part of an integration project, Nova performs these tasks via PowerShell remoting and brings them under the same governance as API-based systems.
What the Windows (PowerShell) project integration covers
- Manages accounts and permissions on Windows systems that offer no API of their own
- Unlocks Exchange administration, such as mailbox lifecycle and mailbox permissions, which is only reachable through PowerShell
- Manages local users and groups on Windows servers
- Adds scripted steps to your joiner, mover, and leaver routines, for example during offboarding
- Records every change it performs for audit purposes
Technical integration
The integration uses PowerShell remoting over WinRM with a dedicated service account. The connector is built on Nova's connector SDK and tailored during the project to the tasks you want to automate.
In the identity lifecycle
Scripted steps plug into the joiner, mover, and leaver routines, from setup at joining to revoking mailbox permissions at departure. The permissions managed this way remain requestable and recertifiable like all others.
