Microsoft Teams
Nova governs access to Microsoft Teams through the underlying Microsoft 365 groups, and delivers approvals and notifications right inside Teams.
What Nova does with Microsoft Teams
- Every team is backed by a Microsoft 365 group; Nova manages membership through group assignment in the native Entra ID connector.
- Team memberships are requested, approved, revoked, and recertified like any other entitlement.
- Access requests reach approvers directly in Microsoft Teams through the Teams plugin.
- Notifications from Nova can be delivered to Teams in addition to the email channel.
- Nova reads memberships back through the Graph API and reconciles the intended state against what is actually in your tenant, including nested groups.
- Membership changes are recorded in the change journal and can be selectively rolled back when needed.
Technical integration
The technical basis is the native Entra ID connector: Microsoft Graph API v1.0, OAuth2 client credentials, and a token cache. The Teams plugin delivers approval requests and notifications over HTTP with automatic retry on connection errors.
In the identity lifecycle
Joiners receive their teams through role and group assignments, and leavers lose access when their Entra account is disabled. In access requests and recertifications, team memberships show up like any other entitlement.
